Mayor Brown has had a long involvement in serving in government. He was first elected in 2000 as a Councillor in the City of Barrie. He served two terms on City Council before getting elected as the Federal Member of Parliament. He was re-elected in 2008 by a landslide and 2011 by the largest margin in City of Barrie history.
Elected in October 2018 as Mayor of Brampton, with a focus on creating the economic climate for new investment and jobs.
A key element of Mayor Brown's vision is Brampton's Innovation District. Which strives to drive growth in Brampton's innovation and technology sector by putting the necessary building blocks in place for a world-class Innovation District. The Innovation District has a sharp focus on start-up scaling, investment attraction and talent development.
Mayor Brown and his wife Genevieve live in Downtown Brampton with their son Theodore.
